Children who need Japanese language instruction
It seems that some children who need Japanese language instruction are attending the new school due to difficulty communicating in Japanese. I thought it might happen because of the influence of globalization, but it’s my first experience to be close to me. I think it would be great for those children to understand their first language at school, so I’m thinking of starting to study the foreign languages.
Chinese and Korean
I have not met them in person because school has not started yet, but I’ve heard that there are children whose mother tongue is Chinese and Korean. For some reason, I started studying Chinese around October last year. I’ve heard that Korean has similar grammar and pronunciation to Japanese, but I haven’t studied Korean because I think it will take some time to get used to reading Hangul. As was the case when I studied Russian, it takes a long time to get used to the letters… However, learning a new language is getting faster and faster for me. I am optimistic that it will not take so long to be able to speak Korean to some extent.
Duolingo
I am studying with Duolingo this time as well. I personally think it’s the perfect tool to start learning a new language at first. Instead of learning that foreign language from Japanese, it is recommended to learn the foreign language from English. This is because there are grammar explanations and long-sentence questions, and the number of questions themselves is large. I have completed Spanish and Russian courses so far. By the way, I am studying for 333 days in a row today. It’s been a little more than a year. Rome was not built in a day. I’ll do my best.

外国語のレベルアップを図る
日本語指導が必要な子ども
新しい勤務校では日本語での意思疎通がまだ難しい、日本語指導が必要な子どもも通っているらしいです。グローバル化の影響もあり、そういうこともあるだろうなとは思っていましたが、実際に身近にいるのははじめての経験になります。学校でその子どもが話す言葉を少しでも分かる、分かろうとする人がいると子どもにとっても嬉しいと思うので、その外国語の勉強も始めようかと思っています。
中国語と韓国語
まだ始業式が始まっていないので会っていませんが、中国語と韓国語を母語にする子どもがいると聞いています。中国語はなんとなくの理由で去年の10月頃から勉強を始めています。韓国語は日本語と文法や発音が似ているところがあるとは聞いてますが、ハングルを読むのに慣れるには時間がかかると思って勉強をしたことがありません。ロシア語を勉強したときもそうでしたが、文字に慣れるのは結構時間がかかるんですよね…。ただ、新しい言語を学ぶのは段々と速くなってきています。韓国語がある程度できるようになるにもそんなに長い時間はかからないんじゃないかなと楽観的に構えています。
Duolingo
今回もDuolingoを使って勉強をしています。はじめての言語を学び始めるには最適のツールだと個人的には思っています。日本語からその外国語を学ぶのではなく、英語から別の外国語を学ぶのがおすすめです。文法の解説や長文問題があったり、問題数そのものが多かったりするためです。これまでにスペイン語とロシア語のコースを修了しました。ちなみに今日で333日連続で勉強していることになります。もう少しでまる1年。継続は力なり。がんばります。
